Commitment to Community
Serving the community is about more than just providing electric service. CGEMC has long been committed to making a difference in the community through volunteer efforts, donations, active participation, and involvement in helping make our communities a better place to live. We’re a part of the community.
EMC Tours and Safety Demos
If your school or organization would like a speaker at an upcoming event, consider calling CGEMC. We welcome the opportunity to present programs on electrical safety and energy conservation. We have a special high-voltage demonstration we can present to schools, scouting groups, etc., which teaches the dangers of electricity and how to deal with special situations when electricity is involved. Using a variety of different scenarios, demonstrations teach about the path of electricity and how to stay out of that path.
On occasion an CGEMC may also be able to bring out a bucket truck and demonstrate the safety gear used by linemen to perform their vital role in keeping the power flowing in your community. Contact CGEMC if your group would like to tour their facilities or is interested in requesting a safety demonstration for your school or civic organization.
CGEMC employees make contributions to a wide variety of important community programs and organizations, from national organizations like United Way and the American Red Cross to the local youth programs within our schools.
We’re also very proud of the involvement of our employees in the community. You will find them coaching youth league sports or walk-a-thons earning funds for worthy causes.
CGEMC also provides free use of our meeting facilities to local nonprofit organizations. We feel that it’s one way we can support the valuable worthwhile work they do.
