Existing Home Rebates

Central Georgia EMC has energy efficiency rebates to help our customer-owners save energy while improving their home's comfort level. 

Heat Pump Rebates

  • Total Electric System Upgrade
    •  Central Georgia EMC is offering customer-owners with older less efficient heat pump systems a rebate to upgrade their heating and cooling system. 
      • $400 for a 16 SEER or greater total electric air-source heat pump or VRF conversion/add-on.
  • Gas to Electric Conversion
    • Central Georgia EMC is offering customer-owners up to $400 for converting from gas to an energy-efficient total electric air-source heat pump. 
      • $400 for conversion from gas to a 16 SEER or greater total electric air-source heat pump,
      •  $250 for conversion from gas to a total electric air-source heat pump that is less than 16 SEER.

Water Heater Rebates

  • Electric Storage Upgrade
    • Central Georgia EMC is offering customer-owners a rebate for upgrading your existing electric water heater. 
      • $100 rebate for replacement of an existing electric storage water heater, 40 gallons or greater
  • Gas to Electric Conversion
    • Central Georgia EMC is offering a rebate for conversion from gas to an electric storage water heater.
      • $150 for the conversion from gas to an electric storage water heater, 40 gallons or greater.

 

Qualifications for Heat Pump and Water Heater Rebates

  • Existing residential customers qualify for rebates.
  • Maximum one HVAC rebate and one water heater rebate per member number per year.
  • Customer must consent to have a load management switch installed on qualifying equipment before the rebate can be processed. The load management switch must remain on equipment and in operating status as long as CGEMC has a load management program.
  • The customer must use a certified company/installer that complies with all local, state, and federal codes and standards.
  • A water heater invoice or receipt is required to process a Water Heater rebate.
  • An Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certificate and invoice must be received with rebate paperwork for a Heat Pump Rebate.
  • Upgraded measures must be inspected and verified by a Central Georgia EMC representative.
  • Rebates are subject to change without notice.

Central Georgia EMC will inspect all upgraded measures before a rebate is processed. All rebates payments are mailed to the qualifying customer. The rebate program is for work completed in 2018 and is not retroactive or prospective. Rebates will end on December 21, 2018.
