Powering a Brighter, Cleaner Future

Cooperative Solar

Powering your home or business is only part of what we do at Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC). As a member-owned cooperative, we are committed to providing energy solutions that reflect our values, including supporting a brighter, cleaner energy future for the communities we serve.

One of the ways we do this is through our Cooperative Solar and Green Energy (Biomass) Programs. These renewable energy options allow members to support alternative energy sources without the cost or maintenance of installing equipment at home. Instead of placing solar panels on your rooftop, you can participate in solar energy that is generated in our region.

Our Green Energy program uses biomass—a renewable resource created from natural materials like wood waste—to generate electricity. By incorporating these renewable sources into our overall power supply, CGEMC can reduce reliance on traditional fuel sources while maintaining the reliability and affordability our members expect.

Participation in Cooperative Solar and Green Energy helps diversify how electricity is produced, reduces environmental impact, and supports long-term sustainability efforts. It also reflects the cooperative principle of Concern for Community by allowing members to play an active role in supporting responsible energy solutions for future generations.

Together, through voluntary programs like these, our membership is helping power progress toward a more balanced and sustainable energy future, one that values innovation, stewardship, and community responsibility.

Your choices today help power a brighter, cleaner tomorrow.
