Thanks to the generosity of Central Georgia EMC members who participate in Operation Round Up, Tennis People Inc. recently received a $1,600 grant from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation.

On the morning of August 5, members of Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC) gathered at the Annex Building in Butts County for the cooperative’s 89th Annual Meeting of Members. Even before sunrise, members were lining up. Registration began at 6:30 a.m., and by the time the meeting was called to order at 10 a.m., more than 1,300 members had registered.
Central Georgia EMC sponsored two local students, Remiya Stephens of Macon and Makayla Davidson of Locust Grove, to attend the 2026 Washington Youth Tour in June. The weeklong leadership experience brought together more than 1,700 students from 44 states, including 112 delegates from Georgia, for an immersive look at our nation's history, government, and cooperative values.

What started as a simple Operation Round Up grant presentation turned into a pawsome afternoon in the community. The Central Georgia EMC Foundation was proud to present a $2,500 donation to the Humane Society of Morgan County, made possible by members who opt to round up their monthly electric bills to support local charitable organizations.
