At Central Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (CGEMC), we are proud to be a member-owned cooperative—which means we’re owned by the very people we serve. Our mission is simple: to provide reliable, affordable electric service to our customer-owners while keeping costs as low as possible.

We work hard to balance competitive pricing with the infrastructure and innovation needed to meet both today’s energy needs and tomorrow’s demand. That’s why CGEMC’s electric rates consistently rank among the lowest in Georgia.

Electric Rate Categories

CGEMC offers a variety of electric rate plans to meet the unique needs of our members. Whether you’re powering a home, farm, business, or specialized equipment, we have the right option for you:

  • Residential and Farm Service Rates

  • Small and Large General Service Rates

  • Irrigation Rates

  • Outdoor Lighting Rates

  • Special Commercial Rates (for accounts with over 900 kW of connected load)

📞 For specialized rate plans or questions, please contact your local CGEMC office to speak with a Member Services representative.

Billing & Payment Policy

To maintain reliable service for all members, Central Georgia EMC follows the policies below for billing and payment:

Past Due Accounts
  • Bills are due within 15 days of the billing date.

  • A cutoff date is listed on your following month’s bill.

  • If your account becomes past due, payment must be received before the cutoff date to avoid disconnection.

Disconnection for Non-Payment

If service is disconnected due to non-payment, the following must be paid before reconnection:

  • The full past-due amount

  • A service charge

  • A deposit equal to three months' usage

Returned Checks & Delinquent Accounts

Returned payments create serious issues for cooperative operations. If a payment is returned by your bank:

  • The account is immediately delinquent

  • You will be notified via CGEMC’s automated account notification system

  • A $25 returned check fee will be added to your account

Failure to resolve the issue promptly may result in disconnection of electric service.
