Central Georgia EMC provides alerts and reminders via SMS messages (texting service) to customer-owners.  The service will use a short code as the from and to for all text messages.  The designated short code number is 352667.

The following commands are available:

JOIN               Starts the Opt-in process

START          Confirmation that the customer wants to opt into the service

STOP             Opts the customer out of the service

MENU            Returns a list of commands that can be used

HELP             Provides information about the service

RESET           Resets the text session in order to start over again

By opting into this service, you are providing consent to receive SMS messages from Central Georgia EMC.  You can cancel at any time.  Text STOP to the short code.  You will receive a confirmation that you have been unsubscribed.  No further SMS messages will be sent to you.

You can rejoin the messaging service by texting JOIN to the short code.   You will receive a follow-up Welcome message that will require you to consent to the messages again.  Simply reply START to the new welcome message.  You will receive alerts and reminders that you have signed up for.

If at any time you need assistance, you can text HELP to the short code, and you will receive instructions on how to use the services.

We are able to deliver messages to most wireless networks.  Message and data rates from your wireless provider may apply to messages sent to you. If you have any questions, please contact your wireless provider for additional details.
