Samaritans Together of Henry County, Inc. received a grant for $5,000 from the Central Georgia EMC Foundation (CGEMC Foundation) to assist Henry County residents in crisis.
"Donations like this are what keeps Samaritans Together of Henry County going," said Executive Director Kim Thomas Smith. "As the needs of the community continue to grow, especially during these uncertain times, we rely on partners, like the CGEMC Foundation and all those who support us, to pour into our mission of assisting Henry County residents that are experiencing a financial crisis."
The mission of Samaritans Together of Henry County, Inc. is to serve the underemployed, unemployed, senior citizens living on fixed incomes, single-parent households with limited incomes, and the disabled. In 2020, they provided over $140,000 in assistance to Henry County families.
The average Operation Round Up participant's donation is fifty cents per month, but that "change" adds up to makes a big difference in local communities.
